Addisalem Getaneh was born in 1995 in Ethiopia and raised in a small village called Woliso, which is 114 km away from the capital city, Addis Ababa. She is the second child in her family, with one older sister and four younger brothers. Addisalem has a deep love and respect for her father, who she considers both her mother and father, as she lost her mother when she was only three years old. She describes her father as “everything” to her. Addisalem is also very attached to her birthplace, Woliso, where her umbilical cord is buried.
During her childhood in Woliso, Addisalem initially had an interest in becoming a musician, never imagining that she would pursue a career as a film actress. However, as a teenager, she began performing in school plays, and by the age of 17, she was determined to become an actress. She started her acting career in Woliso, marking the beginning of her journey in the film industry.
Now living in Addis Ababa, Addisalem is recognized as one of the youngest, most beautiful, and talented actresses in Ethiopia. She is known for her roles in films such as Ye Bal Gabcha, Almaze, YeWedeDu Semon, TemetalehBeye, and more. To date, she has appeared in over 10 films and dramas, showcasing her impressive talent.
In addition to acting, Addisalem enjoys writing poems, listening to music, and watching movies.
